Emergency Response Planning

IATA’s work in the field of aviation emergency response covers a series of activities, including:

  • Developing of recommended practices in airline emergency response.
  • Improving airlines’ emergency response programmes.
  • Providing guidance for emergency response for aircraft incidents involving dangerous goods.
  • Contributing to relevant training programmes syllabi development.
  • Developing inter-agency relations (regulatory bodies, regional industry groups, airport, ground handling, etc.) to improve emergency response preparedness.
  • Raising awareness across the industry.

The IATA Emergency Response Planning Task Force

The IATA Emergency Response Planning Task Force was created to assist the IATA Safety Group in matters relating to the establishment of recommended practices for airline response to an aircraft accident.
