The most recent IATA Financial Forecast (pdf) has been submitted with a bleak outlook on the airline industry. The forecast states that the airline industry net losses will total US $5.2 billion. IATA continues to take steps in helping its members through these difficult times.
Many achievements have been made including successful partnership with key stakeholders (ICAO, Eurocontrol, CANSO, NAVCAN, FAA etc.), development of action plans within the different regions (e.g., Flight Efficiency Plan in Europe) and the Infrastructure "Save One Minute" campaign. IATA has also enhanced Green Team support and successfully initiated a cost reduction campaign which includes Spare Parts pooling and fleet optimisation.
