Air Mercury – Next Generation™

Lead your team to success with a detailed understanding of the competitive airline environment

The Air Mercury – Next Generation aviation simulation course was developed by IATA in cooperation with Cranfield University and Delft University of Technology, two of the world’s leading academic institutions.

A series of classroom lectures and exercises will provide you with a thorough understanding of the factors affecting airline success and profitability and how they inter-relate.

Armed with this knowledge, you will work in a team to analyze your virtual airline’s challenges and will have to devise strategies to address them. Using the simulation tool, you will be analyzing the result of different strategies before deciding on your final plan for the next year.

The simulation will provide a real life environment whereby your team will compete with others for market share and profits.

The model will provide you with a full set of route profitability statements and full financial results for your virtual airline based on your plan and that of competing virtual airlines. This will give you a valuable insight in the competitive dynamics of the market.

During multiple iterations of the simulations, you will focus on different commercial and operational aspects of airline business and explore the mechanics of airline competition.
