IATA Reduces Price of IATA/IATAN ID Card in Canada

2008-01-21 - The International Air Transport Association (IATA) is reducing the price of its IATA/IATAN ID card program in Canada effective March 1, 2008 resulting in significant savings for participants.
“The decision to slash the fee is part of our overall goal to increase the value of the IATA card program,” stated Humberto Rivero, IATA’s Regional Director for the Americas.
“We are working aggressively to increase efficiency, to add services and cut the charges to our globally accepted card.” For IATA Accredited Agents, the one-year option will drop in prices by more than 18% to CAD 30, and the two-year program will fall to CAD 50. For TIDS Agents, the one-year option will cost CAD 50, and the two-year option will be CAD 70.

At the same time IATA reduces the cost of its ID Card, AgentExperience adds service. AgentExperience is a private site allowing IATA / IATAN ID cardholders to view special offers from travel and tourism suppliers around the world. The site lists upcoming familiarization trips, incentives, discounts and privileges. AgentExperience was created to empower travel professionals to gain first hand experience of products offered so they can share their experience with their customers - the traveling public. The site is free to industry suppliers and cardholders.
“The traditional role of the travel agent has changed. They now advise and assist travelers on their complete travel plans, from choosing a destination to planning every detail of the journey. Through AgentExperience, their recommendations will be more astute, especially when they have experienced the product and service first hand and ultimately, the level of satisfaction of their customers will increase and repeat business will follow,” said Rivero.
