Industry Distribution and Financial Services

Industry Distribution & Financial Services (IDFS) is IATA's business unit that develops the industry standards, infrastructure, products and programmes that enable airlines and agents to provide high-quality services worldwide. 

IDFS activities can be grouped into four key areas:

1. Operation of a worldwide distribution system for agent-airline sales reporting and financial settlement.
2. Agency programmes that ensure a financially sound and reliable distribution network of travel and cargo agents.
3. Management of a full range of cost-effective financial services for the air transport industry.
4. Development of common international standards and procedures that underpin these vital activities.
